The sensor of the measuring instrument of a consumption of air is located on an air inlet branch pipe. The stream of air comes to the engine via the measuring instrument with the heated wire element forming a part of the bridge scheme. The current passing through this wire element maintains its constant temperature at the constant level which is higher, than temperature of the air coming to the engine. The mass of air is determined by current. The signal of tension is processed in the control unit of the engine in parallel with the parameter of frequency of rotation of a bent shaft. The sensor of temperature is installed in the air consumption measuring instrument in order that the output signal did not depend on temperature of the air coming to the engine. On the basis of information from the sensor, the control unit of the engine calculates width of the impulse given on nozzles therefore the amount of fuel of the engine given to cylinders changes.
You make replacement of the sensor of the measuring instrument of a consumption of air (MAF) on models since 2001 as follows:
– switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the rechargeable battery;
– disconnect the electric socket from the sensor;

– turn out 2 screws and remove the air consumption measuring instrument sensor with sealing rings (fig. 7.9) .
You carry out installation to the sequences, the return to removal. At installation of the sensor use new sealing rings.
