On models from 1996 to 1998 was established usual contactless systems of ignition, consisting of the lock of ignition, the rechargeable battery, the distributor and the coil of ignition, the electronic control block (ESM), the sensor of an angle of rotation of a bent shaft, spark plugs and wires.
The electronic control block (ESM) operates installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition on the basis of signals from the sensors controlling power setting, such as rotation frequency, amount of the air coming to the engine, temperature of cooling liquid, etc. on all operational modes. The ESM block is located on the right side in a motor compartment.
This contactless system of ignition turns on the inductive sensor located in the ignition distributor, the ignition coil fixed on an inlet collector about the ignition distributor and the switchboard located in a motor compartment.
On models from 1998 to 2001 the switchboard with coils of ignition are executed in the form of the uniform block which was installed on an arm, on an inlet collector.
On models since 2001 blocks the ignition switchboard/coil on each cylinder, directly on spark plugs were installed, at the same time application of high-voltage wires was not required.
On models from 1998 to 2001 the contactless system of ignition consists of the sensor of position of the camshaft, the sensor of an angle of rotation of a bent shaft, ignition coils (one coil on 2 tsit.), switchboard and control unit of the engine (PCM). The coil of ignition and the switchboard are executed in the form of the uniform block and installed from the forward party of the engine. On the basis of signals of sensors of position of the camshaft and an angle of rotation of a bent shaft, the control unit of the engine identifies the cylinder, and gives the operating impulse on the switchboard for giving of a spark to the corresponding cylinder. Each coil of ignition actually consists of 2 separate high-voltage windings which give a spark to two cylinders everyone (one to cylinders No. 1 and 4, and another to cylinders No. 2 and 3). The impulse of ignition moves on two spark plugs for each cycle of the engine, one on a compression step at once, one on an exhaust step — the ignition spark on a step of release does not render any value on operation of the engine and therefore it is spent "empty". The control unit of the engine (PCM) uses signals from various sensors to calculate the required corner of an advancing of ignition and time of accumulation of energy in the ignition coil.
On models since 2001 the contactless system of ignition consists of the sensor of position of the camshaft, the sensor of an angle of rotation of a bent shaft, blocks of the coil of an ignition / switchboard / spark plug installed on everyone the cylinder and the control unit of the engine (PCM). On the basis of signals of sensors of position of the camshaft and an angle of rotation of a bent shaft the control unit of the engine identifies the cylinder and gives the operating impulse on the corresponding block of the coil of an ignition/switchboard/spark plug, and also calculates the required installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition and time of accumulation of energy in the ignition coil.
