Removal

       NOTE
Check an axial side play of camshafts before their removal.

You make removal in the following order:
– switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the rechargeable battery;
– uncover a head of the block of cylinders;

– install the piston of the first cylinder in VMT in a compression step, at the same time the tag on a quencher of fluctuations has to be combined with sign BMT or 0 on a forward cover of a chain (cm of fig. 3.52 ), and tags on asterisks of camshafts have to be combined with tags on covers of bearings of camshafts (see fig. 3.55 );

– apply with paint on a chain the adjusting tags located opposite to tags on asterisks of camshafts (fig. 3.70) ;

       NOTE
On asterisks of camshafts there are about two tags. One tags are intended for installation of camshafts in VMT of the piston of the first cylinder, and others for combination with color tags of a chain.

– keeping a wrench, the camshaft from a provorachivaniye for a hexagon, turn out on several turns a bolt of fastening of an asterisk to the camshaft (see fig. 3.61 );

– remove the mechanism of a tension of a chain and the sensor of an angle of rotation of a bent shaft from a forward cover of a chain (see fig. 3.56 );

– turn out nuts and uncover a natyazhitel a chain with back the parties (see fig. 3.57 );
– turn out bolts of fastening of asterisks to camshafts. Remove a chain from asterisks of camshafts and remove asterisks;
– check an axial gap of camshafts. Establish on the block of cylinders of the engine an arm with the indicator of hour type so that the measuring tip of the indicator rested against a camshaft end face;
– move the camshaft along an axis to one party against the stop and install the indicator on 0. Move the camshaft along an axis to other party against the stop and record value on the indicator. If the size of a gap of the camshaft of inlet valves exceeds admissible size, check a condition of the bearing No. 1 of the camshaft. If the working surface of the bearing is worn-out, replace the bearing. If the size of a gap of the camshaft of final valves exceeds admissible size, it is necessary to replace the camshaft and / or a head of the block of cylinders;
– check whether there is a valve of system of change of phases of gas distribution (VVT) on a back part of the camshaft of inlet valves;
– after removal of asterisks extend, on as much as possible, a chain, and fix by a soft wire it on a partition of a motor compartment. It will exclude falling of a chain in the engine when performing the following operations. Also put pure rags from above in a chain cover;
– check existence of tags on covers of bearings of camshafts. Covers are numbered by figures from 1 to 5 and letters I and E. Intake specifies that the cover is established on the camshaft of inlet valves, and E (Exhaust) – final valves. Also on covers there are arrows which at installation of covers have to be directed to a chain;

– in the sequence, the return to tightening, gradually weaken, and then for several passes turn out completely bolts of fastening of covers of bearings of camshafts (see fig. 3.75 );
– uncover bearings and camshafts a head of the block of cylinders. Note position of camshafts as at installation they have to be in the same provisions;
– wipe from oil and mark pushers, the magnetized tool remove them from a head of the block of cylinders and arrange so that at installation they were established on the places.
Check
Visually investigate cams and necks of bearings of camshafts on lack of development, the traces of corrosion, a navolakivaniye of metal and flowers of a pobezhalost testifying to a local overheat.
Check a condition of teeths on asterisks. Teeths on an asterisk have the symmetric form and in case of development on the one hand of teeths of an asterisk it is necessary to replace together with a chain.
Check a condition of bearings of camshafts in a head of the block of cylinders for lack of traces of corrosion, scratches and wear.

If the working surfaces of the bearing No. 1 of the camshaft of inlet valves are damaged, replace it according to the data provided in table 3.28 (fig. 3.71) ;
Measure by a micrometer diameter of each neck of bearings of the camshaft and write down values. Measure necks in several points, both on diameter, and on length, it will allow to reveal ovality and conicity at their existence. Nominal rate of diameter of necks of bearings of the camshaft: bearing No. 1-35,971-35,985; the others – 22,959–22,975 mm. If diameter of any neck is less than nominal rate, replace the camshaft.
Establish covers of bearings of camshafts on a head of the block of cylinders and fix by bolts. Measure the internal diameter of each corresponding bearing of the camshaft and write down values. For definition of a radial gap subtract diameter of the corresponding neck of the camshaft from diameter of the bearing. Compare gap size to specifications. If the gap exceeds maximum permissible value, replace the camshaft and / or a head of the block of cylinders.
Measure by a micrometer height of cams of the camshaft. Compare height of cams to specifications. If height of cams is less than maximum permissible value, replace the camshaft.
Measure a radial beating of the camshaft. Install the camshaft in a head of the block of cylinders. Establish on a head of the block of cylinders an arm with the indicator of hour type so that the measuring tip of the indicator rested against an average neck of the camshaft, and install the indicator on 0. Slowly turn the camshaft and note change of indications of the indicator.
Move the camshaft along an axis to other party against the stop and record value on the indicator. Maximum permissible value of a radial beating of 0,03 mm. If the radial beating is more than maximum permissible value, replace the camshaft.
Check each pusher for lack of wear and zadir.
Measure the outer diameter of each pusher, and the corresponding nests of pushers. For definition of a gap subtract diameter of a pusher from diameter of a nest. Nominal rate of a gap of 0,033-0,059 mm, maximum permissible value – 0,079 mm. If the gap exceeds maximum permissible value, replace pushers.
Installation
You make installation in the following order:

– if acted the bearing No. 1 of the camshaft of inlet valves, establish it in a head of the block of cylinders (fig. 3.72) and a cover of the bearing (fig. 3.73) ;
– oil engine pushers and establish them on places in which they were before removal;
– oil engine necks and cams of the camshaft;

– install camshafts so that cams of shaft of the first cylinder were directed in different directions from each other, at an angle 30 ° up from the horizontal plane (fig. 3.74) , and adjusting pins were directed up;
– establish covers of bearings of camshafts and fix them by bolts, having tightened them by hand at this stage;
– in the sequence shown in the figure 3.75 , turning for one pass on 1/4 turns, screw bolts of fastening of covers and tighten them the moments given in specifications;
– combine teeths of an asterisk of camshafts with chain links, having combined the tags put before removal, and install asterisks on camshafts, so that pins of shaft entered openings from a reverse side of asterisks;
– check that the piston of the first cylinder is installed in VMT in a compression step, at the same time the tag on a quencher of fluctuations has to be combined with sign BMT or 0 on a forward cover of a chain (see fig. 3.52 ), and tags on asterisks of camshafts have to be combined with tags on covers of bearings (see fig. 3.55 ). Make sure that adjusting tags on a chain before removal, are located opposite to tags on asterisks of camshafts (see fig. 3.70 );
– in turn, keeping a wrench, the camshaft from a provorachivaniye for a hexagon, screw bolts of fastening of asterisks to camshafts (see fig. 3.61 );
– establish a natyazhitel of a chain.
You carry out further installation to the sequences, the return to removal.
